Can Curreu Ibiza country hotel and spa

Peaceful Luxury

When I relished the day spa at Can Curreu for the first time it was on one of those rainy autumn days. All plans went out of the window as it was pouring down and I felt mildly lost (or rather crazy), not quite knowing what to do with myself.

The monkey mind was in full swing and I felt restless and tired at the same time, so I decided to hit the pause button and retreat myself. Nothing productive ever comes out of these days. Not for me anyway.

It took me a long time to realise how essential it is to get out of my usual routine, turn my phone off, and indulge my senses.

Why do we give ourselves so little space to recharge? My mum is rather good at that. The sweetness of doing nothing, so important for body and mind. Unfortunately I'm more like my dad when it comes to active relaxation, but I'm learning, I'm learning.

Thanks to Ibiza and beautiful places like...

Can Curreu Hotel Rural & Spa

Can Curreu Ibiza country hotel and spa

Situated in the lush countryside near Sant Carlos, this stunning hotel provides the perfect hideaway for luxurious relaxation.

The Spa

Can Curreu Ibiza country hotel and spa

The hotel spa is immaculate with wonderful views of the surrounding hills. The wellness area offers thermal circuit with sauna, steam room, indoor and outdoor pool with jacuzzi as well as an ice-cold plunge pool and a pristine little gym.

After a good detoxifying sweat I can highly recommend crashing onto the heated loungers with a beautiful book.

Lying there wrapped up in a big fluffy towel, looking out onto the fairytale countryside, is just divine.

The surrounding gardens are a colourful dream. Stone pathways are lined with fruit trees, flowers and weird and wonderful cacti.

Saunter around and find yourself a shady spot to soak up the divine serenity and intense scents of nature. Especially early evening when the sun begins to set. This is the best grounding therapy.

And if that isn't good enough already, the hotel also has its very own horses and stables. Try one of their packages with horse riding, full spa access and their famous 5-course tasting menu afterwards. Details to be found on their website.

The hotel

Can Curreu is a renovated 200 year old finca that is oozing elegance and style. Just parking up and getting through the front door is a feast for the senses. You just instantly want to breath more deeply.

Great emphasis has been placed on maintaining the hotel's authentic and rustic style as it has expanded over the years.

Think modern features drenched in traditional charm.

The perfect marriage of old and new. The hotel is immaculate but it is not desperately over-designed, everything feels natural, subtle and simply beautiful. It's the little details that matter and at Can Curreu they certainly know it.

There are 17 guest rooms in total, all designed in line with the authentic yet supremely elegant feel. Bright, spacious and airy with impressive modern touches like walk-in showers and whirlpool bathtubs.

Nourish your body.

The restaurant offers delicious fine dining, only using seasonal and local ingredients, most of it picked straight from their very own garden. Tasty!

The interior is rustic and elegant and maintains the exquisite and tasteful feel of the entire hotel. Sit by the large window and admire the massive millennial olive tree that is still growing outside.

Get carried away, inhale the evening light and be utterly grateful.

Ibiza we love you!

When to go:

The hotel is open all year. Spa opening times are 10.00 to 20.00 during the week and 10.00 to 21.00 at weekends. I recommend calling the hotel beforehand to book.

The spa can get busy at weekends, especially on a cloudy day. I have only ever been on random weekdays in the off-season, from late morning to early evening, and this was perfect. I was mostly on my own.

During the summer the hotel is naturally fully booked, and it is a popular venue for weddings, so keep that in mind.

How to get there:

Take the road towards Sant Carles. You will pass Las Dalias market on your left and a sign to the hotel just after that. Turn left there and drive up approximately 500 metres.
